Group and family Umrah
Travelling as ten, forty or a hundred changes what the trip needs. One leader, rooming settled before you fly, and airfare inside the price. From $1,590 per person.
Three very different groups, one problem in common
Everything gets harder as the party grows, and the parts that get harder are the parts nobody thinks about until they are standing in a hotel lobby at midnight.
Masjid and community groups
Twenty, forty, a hundred. The larger the party, the more the trip depends on things nobody sees: which hotel can actually hold you in one building, whether the coach transfers work at Fajr, who is answering questions at two in the morning. We run these as one coordinated departure with a leader for the whole group, not a spreadsheet of individual bookings that happen to share a flight.
Extended families
Three generations travelling together is the most common shape we book, and the hardest to get right. Grandparents who need a short walk, teenagers who want to be at the Haram at midnight, a toddler who needs a nap at the wrong hour. We plan the rooming and the pace around that instead of handing everyone the same itinerary.
Organisations and student groups
MSA chapters, Islamic schools and workplace groups travelling in the breaks. These usually run on fixed dates that cannot move and a budget that has to be defensible to somebody else, so we quote them in writing with the per-person cost broken out clearly.
The parts that break when nobody owns them
- One point of contact from the first enquiry to the day you land home, not a different person each time you call
- Rooming worked out before you fly, including connecting rooms where the hotel can give them
- A dedicated group leader with the party throughout
- Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah, under 2 minutes' walk from the Haram, so a large group is not strung out along a shuttle route
- Anwar Al Madinah Mövenpick in Madinah, which sits on the ladies' side of the Masjid and suits families and women travelling together
- Scholar-led preparation before departure so the whole group arrives knowing the rites
- Round-trip airfare, the Umrah e-visa, medical insurance and the Haramain train all inside one price
Prices are based on departures from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX. Other US departure cities may incur additional airfare.
One thing worth knowing before you gather numbers
Room occupancy moves the per-person price more than almost anything else. Four sharing a quad pay noticeably less each than two sharing a double, in the same hotel on the same dates, because the room cost is split further. Groups and families fill quads naturally, which is why they often travel better for the money than couples do. Work out roughly who is sharing with whom before you ask us to quote and the number will come back faster and closer to final.
Travelling with older parents? We have a page on that, because walking distance and pacing change the whole plan.
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.”
Qur'an 3:103

Practically, anything from about ten upwards starts to benefit from being handled as a group rather than as separate bookings. Below that we still coordinate your rooming and seating, it just does not need a dedicated leader. There is no upper limit we have run into yet.
Sometimes, and we will be straight about when. Room occupancy is the biggest lever on price for anyone: a quad works out considerably cheaper per person than a double, and groups fill quads naturally where a couple cannot. Beyond that, larger parties give us more leverage with hotels and airlines on fixed dates. We will tell you honestly whether your numbers move the price or not, rather than implying a discount that is really just four people sharing a room.
Yes. Groups usually do, because the whole point is that the party travels together and the dates are set by school holidays, a masjid calendar or somebody's annual leave. We build the itinerary around your dates rather than fitting you into a published departure.
Where the hotel can give them, yes, and we ask at the time of booking rather than on arrival. We will not promise them, because no honest agency can guarantee a specific room configuration months out. What we can promise is that we ask early, put it in writing, and tell you what was confirmed.
Very. Family bookings are a large part of what we do. The two things that matter most are how far you have to walk to the Haram and how the day is paced, which is why we favour hotels within a couple of minutes rather than a shuttle ride. Tell us the ages and we will plan around the naps and the meals instead of pretending they do not exist.
For group departures, yes. A dedicated leader stays with the party for the whole trip. For smaller family bookings you have an Umrah guide with you for the rites and our team reachable throughout, which is what most families actually need.
What our pilgrims say

“Fantastic ,professional, on time and gret customer service”
“My 2nd Umrah with Qibla Gateway was incredible. Called Brother Ali on Wednesday on short notice, everything was booked by Thursday, and I traveled Friday to Monday. He got me a hotel right across Gate 79 of Masjid Al Haram and the transport team confirmed every ride an hour early. Super smooth service — highly recommended!”
“My husband and I recently came back from our first umrah trip in June using Qibla Gateway's services, and it was a great experience. Our travel agent, brother Asad Khan, was very helpful and walked us through the process each step of the way. As first timers, it can be pretty daunting to keep up with all the procedures, rules and guidelines, but brother Asad and Qibla Gateway made the process smooth and supportive. The trip package was also very reasonably priced.”
