Most of the effort on this trip happens in the first six nights, in Makkah and then Madinah. Dubai waits until the worship is done, so you arrive there with the most demanding part already behind you. You get three nights at Fairmont Dubai, with Burj Khalifa tickets and a city tour included. It's built for people who want the journey to end on something lighter. A family whose children have been patient through long days in the Haram is the obvious case. So is a couple who'd like a few easy days before going home. Dubai keeps its clocks an hour ahead of Makkah all year, so the change of city barely touches your sleep. The Umrah half uses the same Makkah and Madinah hotels as our Premium tier, with one fewer night in Makkah. If a longer stay near the Haram matters more to you than the add-on, that tier is the one to compare.
Entry to the UAE for US citizens
For now, the UAE Embassy in Washington says US citizens don't have to apply for a visa before travelling. One is issued when you enter, and it allows a stay far longer than the three nights this package spends in Dubai. Two conditions apply. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your expected arrival date in the UAE. You won't land in Dubai until the Saudi part of the trip is over, and it's that later date the six months are measured from. You also need a round-trip ticket or a confirmed ticket to another destination. The embassy's page is the place to confirm all of this shortly before you fly.
Check your medicines before you pack
This one is easy to miss. The UAE Embassy says anyone carrying controlled medication into the UAE must apply for approval through the Ministry of Health website, and should do it before the trip. You also have to carry the prescription for the quantity you bring. Prescriptions for uncontrolled medicines, and over-the-counter medicines, don't need that prior approval. The embassy's advice is to ask your doctor whether anything you take counts as controlled, and to contact a UAE embassy or consulate if you're unsure. Do that while you're still at home. Once you're in Makkah your days belong to the Haram, and nobody wants to be chasing paperwork from there.
Where Fairmont Dubai sits
The hotel is on Sheikh Zayed Road, in what Fairmont calls the heart of the city's business and leisure district. Its own site puts Dubai International Airport (DXB) about 15 minutes away, and Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and the Museum of the Future about a 20-minute drive. It also describes the hotel as close to World Trade Centre station on the Dubai Metro. In practice, the Burj Khalifa visit starts with a drive rather than a stroll, so leave some slack in that day. The Museum of the Future isn't among the package's listed inclusions. If it's on your list, raise it with the team when you enquire.

Frequently asked questions
The package lists Burj Khalifa tickets but doesn't name the level. Visit Dubai, which bills itself as Dubai's official tourism guide, lists more than one kind: its Silver ticket covers levels 124 and 125, and its Gold ticket reaches level 148. Check with the team which one you'd get. If you'd like the higher deck, ask at the same time whether it can be arranged and what it would add.
The Umrah half is identical: the same nights and the same two hotels. Only the last three nights change. Istanbul puts you in the Sultanahmet district with a city tour and a Bosphorus cruise, on the same clock as Makkah. Dubai puts you at Fairmont Dubai with Burj Khalifa tickets and a city tour, an hour ahead. Entry rules differ as well, so read the section on them for each city before you choose.
Ask the team. The package as listed has three nights at Fairmont Dubai, and they can tell you whether more can be added and what that would cost. On the entry side, the UAE Embassy in Washington says the visa US citizens receive on arrival covers a stay well beyond a few added days. Check the embassy's page for the current limit before you plan a longer stay.
Advertised prices are per person based on four people sharing a room, which the industry calls quad occupancy. On our monthly departures, triple occupancy adds $200 per person and double occupancy adds $400 per person. That is the whole rule.
