Umrah Packages from Las Vegas
Flight-inclusive Umrah for pilgrims from Las Vegas Valley, departing via LAS.
Umrah from Las Vegas made simple
Harry Reid International sits about seven miles south of downtown, near the southern end of the Strip, and the airport describes itself as always active. One security checkpoint is open 24 hours and others open in the small hours, which helps when an itinerary starts before sunrise. The detail that trips people up is the terminal. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 serve different airlines and are linked by courtesy shuttle buses, so know which one your first flight uses before anyone starts the car. Summer has its own risk. Monsoon storms tend to move into the Valley in July and August, and a flooded road on departure morning is a poor way to begin Umrah.

Routing
Expect either a domestic hop to a priced gateway such as LAX, the nearest, or a connection from LAS, with the long-haul change at a Gulf, Turkish or European hub

Masjid As-Sabur on Morgan Avenue describes itself as the oldest masjid in Las Vegas, with roots in the early 1970s. The congregation, then called Masjid Muhammad, moved into mainstream Sunni Islam in 1975 under Imam Warith Deen Muhammad and made its permanent home in the Historic Westside in 1982. It runs youth programs and neighborhood outreach. The Islamic Society of Nevada, whose masjid is the Jamia Masjid of Las Vegas, is another long-running congregation, and the 2020 US Religion Census counted seven Muslim congregations across Clark County.
Getting to Makkah from Las Vegas
The drive to the airport is rarely the hard part. The real decision is how the flights fit together. Package airfare is built on five gateways, JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX, and Las Vegas isn't one of them, so there are two ways to start. You can fly a short domestic leg to one of those gateways, with Los Angeles the nearest, or connect out of LAS through another hub. Either may add to the airfare, and the team tells you the figure before you commit. The long-haul flight then connects in the Gulf, in Turkey or in Europe before Jeddah. Starting in the Mojave, count on roughly 20 to 26 hours between leaving home and stepping off the plane in Saudi Arabia. Think about ihram early. A published answer from Sheikh Ahmad Kutty of the Islamic Institute of Toronto gives the standard view as entering ihram before landing in Jeddah, since the plane flies over the miqat first, and notes a second view that allows Jeddah itself when that's difficult. It's worth settling which you'll follow before you fly. From Jeddah you go on to Makkah, where the clock reads 10 or 11 hours later than at home.
Terminal 1 or Terminal 3?
Harry Reid splits its airlines between two terminals, and the airport's airline list shows which one each carrier uses. The foreign airlines on that list are at Terminal 3, along with several US carriers, while other US airlines use Terminal 1. The two terminals are linked by courtesy shuttle buses, so a drop-off at the wrong one means a shuttle ride before you can even check in. The day before you fly, look up the terminal for the first flight on your ticket and give it to whoever is driving.
July storms and spring wind
According to the Weather Service office in Las Vegas, monsoon moisture usually reaches the Mojave in July and August and sets off thunderstorms that form over the surrounding mountains before moving into the Valley. Their gusty winds occasionally cause damage. At other times the main impact is heavy rain and flash flooding, with water sweeping down normally dry washes and into low-lying areas. Strong winds are most common in spring and again in fall, and gusts over 50 mph, though infrequent, bring blowing dust and sand. On a stormy departure day, leave earlier than you think you need to.
Ten hours ahead, or eleven
Nevada changes its clocks and Saudi Arabia doesn't. From the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, Las Vegas runs on Pacific Daylight Time, UTC-7, and Makkah is ten hours ahead. Through the winter, on Pacific Standard Time, UTC-8, the gap grows to eleven. Put simply, 5 a.m. in Makkah is 7 p.m. the evening before in Las Vegas during daylight time, and 6 p.m. in winter. Adding a Makkah clock to your phone a week out helps.

Umrah from Las Vegas: questions
The airport's own guidance is at least two hours before a domestic flight and at least three before an international one. It also asks travelers to allow extra time on weekends, on holidays and during major conventions, so check what's on in town the week you leave. For a flight before dawn, look at the checkpoint hours on the airport's website, because not every checkpoint is open around the clock. Your airline's check-in cutoff still comes first.
RTC buses stop at Terminal 1 on Level Zero, reached by elevator or escalator down from baggage claim. Route 108 Paradise and the Red Line, formerly Route 109 Maryland Parkway, both call there. From Terminal 3, you'd ride the inter-terminal shuttle over to Terminal 1 first. Coming home, rideshare pickups are inside the parking garages: Level 2 at Terminal 1 and the Valet Level at Terminal 3. Taxis wait outside baggage claim at both terminals.
Our 7-night flight-inclusive packages run from $1,590 to $1,890 per person on quad occupancy, with airfare, the e-visa, medical insurance, both hotels and the Haramain train inside that figure. Advertised prices are based on departures from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX. Flying out of your city may add to the airfare, and we'll confirm exactly how much before you book anything.
