Umrah Packages from Phoenix
Flight-inclusive Umrah for pilgrims from the Phoenix metro area, departing via PHX.
Umrah from Phoenix made simple
Getting from the Valley to Makkah is a long trip, and most of what makes it easier is local knowledge. Sky Harbor has two terminals, 3 and 4, and a free train that ties them to light rail, the economy parking areas and the Rental Car Center. Phoenix doesn't change its clocks, so the gap to Makkah holds steady all year. The summer monsoon is another matter. A dust storm can force you off the road on the way to the airport, because the Weather Service tells drivers caught in one to pull over. Flights are part of every package, and if starting at PHX adds to the airfare, the team confirms that figure before you book.

Routing
PHX isn't a priced gateway, so trips either hop to one, such as LAX, or connect from PHX, then change planes at a European, Turkish or Gulf hub
Community
The 2020 US Religion Census counted 26 Muslim congregations in Maricopa County and estimated their adherents at 90,826. One of them is the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix on North Black Canyon Highway, founded in the early 1980s by Muslims in the North Valley and a registered nonprofit since 1982. It has been in its current building, once a church, since 1997, and runs Qur'an memorization and tajweed lessons along with a weekend school for children.
Getting to Makkah from Phoenix
Driving in is the obvious option, but light rail works too. Valley Metro Rail stops at 44th Street and Washington, where the free PHX Sky Train picks you up and runs to Terminals 3 and 4. From the terminal, the shape of the trip depends on your dates. Package airfare is priced from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX, so a Phoenix start means one of two things. Either you take a short domestic flight to one of those gateways, or you connect out of PHX through a different hub. Starting at PHX may add to the airfare, and the team confirms that figure before anyone books. After that, the long-haul part runs through a European, Turkish or Gulf hub and on to Jeddah. From this far west, budget roughly 20 to 26 hours from your front door to the arrival gate. If you get a say in the connection, a longer one is usually worth it. Missing a tight one on a trip this long costs far more than an extra hour at the gate. Makkah comes after Jeddah, and by then your body will still be on Valley time, ten hours behind.
Monsoon season and the drive in
The Phoenix office of the National Weather Service measures the monsoon from June 15 to September 30, and its safety page calls this the most dangerous time of year, weather-wise, in the Southwest. Storm winds can raise dust storms that cut visibility to a quarter mile or less, and the Weather Service advice for drivers caught in one is simple: pull off the road. If you fly out between mid-June and September, check the forecast before leaving home and allow extra time to reach Sky Harbor. Don't let a tight schedule push you into a wall of dust.
Where the Sky Train stops
The PHX Sky Train is free, runs 24 hours a day and reaches well beyond the terminals. Its stations include 44th Street and Washington for light rail, the East Economy and 24th Street Economy parking areas, and the Rental Car Center. Sky Harbor puts daytime waits at about 3.5-7 minutes. Between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., nightly maintenance can stretch that to 15 minutes or more, and the airport recommends allowing extra time then. If you're parking for the length of the trip and your flight leaves early, build that overnight gap into your timing.
Coming home into Terminal 4
If your return flight lands at Sky Harbor straight from abroad, you'll clear customs there, and the airport says most international flights arrive at Terminal 4, Level 3, at the east end. Sky Harbor also points returning travelers to Mobile Passport Control, a free CBP app that lets US citizens, green card holders and some visitors answer arrival and declaration questions on a phone ahead of meeting an officer. If the last leg home is domestic, you'll normally have cleared customs at the first US airport you landed in, unless US officers precleared you abroad.

Umrah from Phoenix: questions
It keeps it fixed. Phoenix stays on Mountain Standard Time, UTC-7, all year, and Makkah stays on Arabia Standard Time, UTC+3, with no clock changes either. So Makkah is ten hours ahead of the Valley in every month. Noon in Phoenix is 10 p.m. in Makkah. That makes calls home and prayer-time planning easier to work out, though your body will still need time to adjust after you arrive.
Yes. Sky Harbor describes its 44th Street PHX Sky Train station as a direct connection to Valley Metro Rail, which gives access to Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. From there the free Sky Train runs to Terminals 3 and 4. Two bus routes also meet the train: Route 13 stops at the 24th Street station and Route 44 at the 44th Street station. With a large suitcase for a week or more away, leave some extra time for the change.
Our 7-night flight-inclusive packages run from $1,590 to $1,890 per person on quad occupancy, with airfare, the e-visa, medical insurance, both hotels and the Haramain train inside that figure. Advertised prices are based on departures from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX. Flying out of your city may add to the airfare, and we'll confirm exactly how much before you book anything.
