Umrah from Dallas made simple

A rail line that opened in October 2025 changed the airport run from the northern suburbs. DART's Silver Line now links Plano, Richardson and Addison with Terminal B at DFW. Our package airfare is built on five other airports, so we check what a DFW departure adds and tell you the figure before you book. Past that, local details count. Terminal C is being rebuilt, one of its three parking garages has closed, and the Express South lot is gone too, making way for a new Terminal F. Thunderstorms peak in spring, which matters if you're traveling then. For Love Field, the Route 5 Love Link bus runs to DART's Inwood/Love Field Station.

The Islamic Association of North Texas has its masjid at 840 Abrams Road in Richardson, and the East Plano Islamic Center is at 4700 14th Street in Plano. Figures from the 2020 US Religion Census show that Dallas County had an estimated 60,400 Muslim adherents in 38 congregations. Collin County had about 37,400 in 12. That works out to roughly 35 per 1,000 residents in Collin, against about 23 in Dallas County.

Getting to Makkah from Dallas

An Umrah trip from the Metroplex can start in one of two ways. You can fly the whole way from DFW, changing planes once at an overseas hub before the flight into Saudi Arabia. Or you can fly first to New York JFK, Washington Dulles, Chicago O'Hare, Atlanta or Los Angeles, the five airports behind our airfare, and pick up the long-haul leg there. Leaving from DFW can raise the airfare. If it does, you'll have the number from us before any booking.

Somewhere around 17 to 23 hours will pass between takeoff at DFW and touchdown in Saudi Arabia, with the hub and the layover making the difference. A longer connection isn't wasted time with parents or grandparents in the group. It's the difference between walking to the next gate and running for it.

Before any of that, check the expiry date in every passport. For an urgent case, the Dallas Passport Agency at 1100 Commerce Street works by appointment only and is meant for travel within 14 days. Anything less pressing should go through the ordinary renewal, done early.

Timing the drive to DFW

DFW's summer travel page tells people to reach the airport at least two hours before a domestic departure and three before an international one. Its security page adds a target for the gate itself: international travelers should be there 1.5 hours before departure. The same page shows live wait times at each checkpoint, and the airport's drive-time tool estimates how long it takes to reach each terminal from the North or South entry plazas. Check both on the morning you leave, because conditions change quickly at busy times.

Spring is storm season

The National Weather Service office in Fort Worth says thunderstorms and severe weather peak in spring, and that large hail, damaging winds, flooding and tornadoes happen somewhere in the Metroplex nearly every year. A storm over the airport can mean a late departure and a tight connection overseas. For a trip between March and May, a longer layover at the connecting hub is a sensible cushion. Keep your airline's app on your phone so you hear about any change straight away.

Parking while DFW rebuilds

DFW is in the first phase of a multi-year rebuild of Terminal C. The south garage there, which served gates C26-C39, has closed so a larger one can go up, though the north and central garages are still open. The Express South lot has also closed to make room for Terminal F, while Express North, Remote South and Remote North remain. For a trip of a week or more, book a space ahead online or in the DFW app, where live availability for every terminal is shown too.

Umrah from Dallas: questions

Yes, and there are two lines. The DART Silver Line starts in Plano and stops in Richardson, Addison, Carrollton and Coppell on its way to DFW's Terminal B. DART says those trains have overhead luggage racks and one section with a big area for bags and strollers. The Orange Line also comes from Plano, but it runs through downtown Dallas and Irving to Terminal A. DART's light rail cars have no luggage racks, though you can roll bags into the center section. Check the timetable before planning around either.

Rail still works. The Orange Line stops at Terminal A and the Silver Line at Terminal B, and from either one DFW's orange Terminal Link shuttles carry passengers on to other terminals. The airport says they come every 8-10 minutes after 5 a.m. and take 10-20 minutes, depending on where you're going. While Terminal C is being rebuilt, Terminal Link stops there only once, on the lower level near Gate C17. Check your terminal in the airline app that morning, since it decides which line suits you.

Our 7-night flight-inclusive packages run from $1,590 to $1,890 per person on quad occupancy, with airfare, the e-visa, medical insurance, both hotels and the Haramain train inside that figure. Advertised prices are based on departures from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX. Flying out of your city may add to the airfare, and we'll confirm exactly how much before you book anything.
