Why perform Umrah in February?

Ramadan is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, subject to the moon sighting, and February holds its opening stretch. That first half is the part people who have been before quietly recommend. The reward of fasting in the Haram is the same on night three as on night twenty-three, but the crowds have not yet built, hotel rates have not reached their ceiling, and you can still find room in the mataf at Fajr without arriving an hour early. If this is your first Ramadan in Makkah, and you would rather it not also be the most crowded fortnight of your life, this is the half to travel in.

  • The calmer half of Ramadan, before the last ten nights fill every hotel
  • Taraweeh behind the imams of the Haram, which is the reason most people come
  • Ten nights rather than the usual seven, five in each city
  • Saja By Warwick, about 3 minutes' walk from Masjid an-Nabawi
  • Voco Makkah, with a shuttle to the Haram or about a 15 minute walk

Weather in February

February is one of the kinder months in both cities. Warm but not punishing through the day, genuinely cool after sunset, which is exactly what you want when the fast breaks at Maghrib and the night is long.

February 2027 Umrah: FAQs

$1,990 per person on quad occupancy, $2,190 on triple and $2,390 on double. That covers ten nights, round-trip airfare, the Umrah e-visa, medical insurance, both hotels, the Haramain train and assisted transfers. It applies to both February windows, 7 to 18 and 16 to 27.

Yes, noticeably. Demand climbs through the month and peaks over the last ten nights, when a large part of the Muslim world is trying to be in the same place at the same time. Travelling in the first half gets you the same Taraweeh and the same fasting in the Haram, with more room to breathe and a lower price.

They are priced the same and they are the same trip, so it comes down to your calendar and to which half of the month you want. The 7 to 18 window opens Ramadan and is the quietest of the three departures. The 16 to 27 window covers the second ashra and starts to build towards the last ten nights without reaching them. If you want the peak, that is the 26 February departure, and it costs more for good reason.

Because Ramadan is worth the extra time and the programme is built around it. Five nights in Makkah and five in Madinah, rather than four and three. It also means fewer wasted days: fasting, praying Taraweeh and travelling in the same 24 hours is a great deal to ask of anybody, and the longer stay takes that pressure off both ends.

It is expected around 8 February 2027, but it depends on the moon sighting and can shift by a day. We build the itinerary once the date is confirmed, and we will never sell you a fixed window that a sighting could invalidate.

Most people can, with sensible pacing, and the honest answer matters more than a comfortable one here. These departures stay at Voco Makkah, which runs a shuttle to the Haram and is about fifteen minutes on foot, so plan the afternoon around the shuttle rather than assuming you can walk back between prayers. What makes it manageable is the length: ten nights, five in each city, instead of rushing the rites into seven. Tell us if anyone in your party has mobility or health needs and we will plan around them.

Everything except your personal spending. That covers round-trip airfare from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL, LAX, the Umrah e-visa, medical insurance, 5 nights in Makkah at Voco Makkah (IHG) and 5 nights in Madinah at Saja By Warwick Madinah, daily buffet breakfast, the Haramain high-speed train between the two cities, assisted transfers, and an Umrah guide with you throughout.

From $1,990 per person on quad occupancy, which means four of you sharing a room. Triple occupancy is $2,190 per person and double occupancy is $2,390 per person. Prices are based on departures from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX. Other US departure cities may incur additional airfare.

“My 2nd Umrah with Qibla Gateway was incredible. Called Brother Ali on Wednesday on short notice, everything was booked by Thursday, and I traveled Friday to Monday. He got me a hotel right across Gate 79 of Masjid Al Haram and the transport team confirmed every ride an hour early. Super smooth service — highly recommended!”

“My husband and I recently came back from our first umrah trip in June using Qibla Gateway's services, and it was a great experience. Our travel agent, brother Asad Khan, was very helpful and walked us through the process each step of the way. As first timers, it can be pretty daunting to keep up with all the procedures, rules and guidelines, but brother Asad and Qibla Gateway made the process smooth and supportive. The trip package was also very reasonably priced.”
