Why perform Umrah in March?

March 2027 carries the end of Ramadan: the last ten nights, Laylat al-Qadr somewhere inside them, and then Eid al-Fitr. There is nothing else like it in the Islamic year, and there is no point pretending it is the easy option. The Haram is at its fullest, hotels near it are at their most expensive, and the nights run long because nobody wants to leave. People save for years for this specific fortnight. If that is what you are saving for, plan it early, because this is the window that sells out first everywhere in the market.

  • The last ten nights, and the search for Laylat al-Qadr
  • Eid al-Fitr in Makkah or Madinah, which most pilgrims experience once in a lifetime
  • A quieter tail once Eid passes, for anyone who wants the month without the peak
  • Ten nights, five in each city, rather than the usual seven
  • Saja By Warwick, about 3 minutes' walk from Masjid an-Nabawi

Weather in March

Warming up as the month goes on, still comfortable in the shade and cool at night. The heat is not the difficulty in March. The crowds are.

March 2027 Umrah: FAQs

$2,690 per person on quad occupancy, $2,890 on triple and $3,090 on double, for ten nights with airfare, visa, insurance, both hotels and the Haramain train included. It departs 26 February and returns 9 March. It is the most expensive window of the year and it is the first one to sell out, which are the same fact seen from two sides.

Depends what you are there for. The last ten nights are the spiritual peak of the year and priced accordingly. The week after Eid is one of the calmest and best-value stretches of the entire calendar, in the same weather, with the same rites. Both are good trips. They are not the same trip, and we would rather ask than assume.

It is possible, and it needs planning rather than hoping. The Haram fills early in the last ten nights and access is managed. Tell us at the enquiry stage that i'tikaf matters to you and we will build the stay around it instead of leaving you to solve it on arrival.

As early as you can. Hotels within walking distance of the Haram are committed months ahead for this window, and the ones left late are the ones nobody wanted. Registering interest now costs you nothing and puts you at the front when the programme opens.

Everything except your personal spending. That covers round-trip airfare from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL, LAX, the Umrah e-visa, medical insurance, 5 nights in Makkah at Voco Makkah (IHG) and 5 nights in Madinah at Saja By Warwick Madinah, daily buffet breakfast, the Haramain high-speed train between the two cities, assisted transfers, and an Umrah guide with you throughout.

From $2,690 per person on quad occupancy, which means four of you sharing a room. Triple occupancy is $2,890 per person and double occupancy is $3,090 per person. Prices are based on departures from JFK, IAD, ORD, ATL and LAX. Other US departure cities may incur additional airfare.

“My 2nd Umrah with Qibla Gateway was incredible. Called Brother Ali on Wednesday on short notice, everything was booked by Thursday, and I traveled Friday to Monday. He got me a hotel right across Gate 79 of Masjid Al Haram and the transport team confirmed every ride an hour early. Super smooth service — highly recommended!”

“My husband and I recently came back from our first umrah trip in June using Qibla Gateway's services, and it was a great experience. Our travel agent, brother Asad Khan, was very helpful and walked us through the process each step of the way. As first timers, it can be pretty daunting to keep up with all the procedures, rules and guidelines, but brother Asad and Qibla Gateway made the process smooth and supportive. The trip package was also very reasonably priced.”
